Independent guide / For informed traders

Keep more of every trade. Start with your fees.

Check your current fee tier, understand maker versus taker execution, and confirm any eligible rebate. A limit order earns maker pricing only when it rests on the order book rather than filling immediately.

The answer

How can I reduce my OKX trading fees?

Start with the fee rate shown in your account. Review maker versus taker execution, your existing fee-tier eligibility and available rebate offers. These affect different parts of the cost, so check them separately.

Read your fee history

Identify what you currently pay on the products and order types you actually use.

Review execution

Maker and taker pricing can differ. A limit order is not automatically a maker order.

Check rebate eligibility

Confirm the benefit before trading. Do not increase turnover solely to unlock a discount.

Before you decide

Questions traders ask.

Straight answers before you follow a referral link.

Does holding OKB reduce exchange trading fees?

OKX's current fee-reduction guide says holding OKB does not affect fee discount tiers and OKB cannot offset exchange trading fees.

Does a limit order always cost less?

No. The applicable fee depends on how it executes. It can fill as a taker, and a resting maker order can remain unfilled.

Can an existing account use LOWERFEES?

Open the existing-account link, log in and enter LOWERFEES. OKX determines whether the account can be linked.

Will a rebate make a strategy profitable?

No. It changes eligible fee costs only. Market losses, funding and execution costs can exceed any rebate.

How can I minimize trading fees?

Review your fee statements, order execution and eligibility for discounts. Use the calculator to estimate a rebate on fees you already expect to pay; avoid extra trades simply to chase savings.

Does holding OKB reduce OKX trading fees?

OKX’s current help page says holding OKB does not change fee discount tiers and OKB cannot offset exchange trading fees.

Does every limit order get a maker fee?

No. A limit order that fills immediately can be charged as a taker. Confirm the order settings and applicable rate before execution.

Is an OKX rebate code the same as a referral or sign-up code?

On this page, LOWERFEES is the OKX affiliate referral code associated with the eligible fee-rebate offer. People also call it a rebate code, invitation code or sign-up code. Check the code and benefit on OKX before completing registration.

Where do I enter the code after logging in?

If you already have an account, use the separate existing-user link in the OKX offer above. Log in and enter LOWERFEES when prompted. The normal new-account registration link is a different route.

Can I add a referral code after signing up?

Use the existing-user linking route to check your account. An existing referral relationship may affect eligibility. Follow the result displayed by OKX; entering a code on this website does not change your exchange account.

Does a trading-fee rebate apply to my deposit?

No. The rebate is a share of eligible trading fees. It is not a percentage of your deposit, account balance or trading profit. Funding and other charges are separate unless the exchange offer explicitly includes them.
